Introducing the Japan Biohacking Association
Science, practice and international connection
I’m pleased to share the establishment of the Japan Biohacking Association (一般社団法人 日本バイオハッキング協会), a general incorporated association founded in Tokyo on September 14, 2026. I serve as Representative Director alongside Director Chloë O’Neil.
The Association brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, companies, entrepreneurs and practitioners working across biohacking, health optimization, longevity and well-being. Our aim is to make scientific knowledge easier to understand and create opportunities to put that knowledge into practice.
Connecting Japan with the world
My work in sport, health education and international events has brought me into contact with people approaching well-being from different disciplines and cultures. The Association gives that work a shared home: a place for education, dialogue and collaboration between Japan and the wider world.
We also draw on Japan’s tradition of yojo, the art of looking after one’s health, alongside current research and technology. The focus is on understanding our bodies and daily lives, asking better questions and continuing to learn.
What the Association will do
Our work spans six areas:
Education and public learning
Research and accessible health information
International exchange and collaboration
Events and communities
Business development and market-entry support
Content production and communication
Four principles guide this work: science, practice, harmony and connection. They shape how we share information, bring people together and develop projects across professional and national boundaries.
Meet the founding directors
I bring experience in professional sport, sports science, applied nutrition and international wellness events. Chloë brings experience in organizational transformation, business development, community building and programme design.
We welcome conversations with researchers, companies, event organizers and practitioners interested in education or collaboration.
