First time in the Czech Republic

What unique experiences in the Czech Republic? I felt so privileged to see the Czech president and one of the most famous Czech singers, even though it was my first time visiting this beautiful country. Big shout out to Lucie Bila for such a sophisticated handmade accessory. Thanks, Meltingpot forum, for having me speak and participate in the workshop in Ostrava. Yogetsu Akasaka and Dragon Sound did an epic collaboration at Colours of Ostrava. We come back to Ostrava, and I see Yogetsu and his dream team performing on the main stage of Colours soon. Our music brings everyone to the center of well-being. Ideas without borders!

Blending Work and Family in the Nordic: A Memorable Helsinki Experience

Organizing the Biohacker Summit in Helsinki in 2024 was a milestone in my professional life. Still, this year was particularly special because I could blend my work with family again! My wife, Nao Matsuda, and our kids joined me for the event, marking our first family trip to Helsinki in five years—since Nao last attended the Biohacker Summit 2019.

Following the powerful experience of the Biohacker Summit Helsinki 2024, I embarked on a transformative offsite retreat to Samurai Island, located in Finland’s stunning archipelago, Stra Herro. From Slack to SXSW: My Journey with Yogetsu Akasaka

Back in the summer of 2020, the world was in lockdown, and I found myself taking an online meditation class at MIT. It was a time of introspection, and like many others, I was trying to find some semblance of peace amidst the chaos. One day, during our discussions on mindfulness and zen, a classmate dropped a bombshell in our Slack channel—a video of a Zen Buddhist priest turned beatboxing sensation, Yogetsu Akasaka. The conversation went something like, "Tateki, do you know him?" My response was a simple "No," but little did I know, this brief exchange was the beginning of something much bigger.

Palau Güell

Before our flight, we enjoyed the last day in Barcelona. I think this place is my most favorite building designed by Gaudi. The Palau Güell is a mansion designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí for the industrial tycoon Eusebi Güell and built between 1886 and 1888. As editing my video, it came out almost 10 minutes virtual tour for those who are busy or missed opportunities to visit one of the best buildings in Barcelona.

the Castell de Montjuïc

Montjuïc is a great place to enjoy panoramic views of Barcelona. The Castell de Montjuïc fortress is located on the summit of the hill, and it's surrounded by imposing ramparts. There are several large-caliber guns mounted on the fortress, which were used to defend the port area. The fortress is open to the public, and you can walk around the flat roof and corner bastions for some great views of the cityscape, sea, and mountains. Montjuïc is also home to some great museums, like the Fundació Joan Miró and the Catalan National Museum of Art (MNAC).

Hiking up Montserrat

On the 4rd day in Barcelona, we were not in the city, and we did a day trip to Montserrat. Many tourists take a cable car or a tram to the abbey, and you can find other channels sharing their experience. We accidentally entered the wrong route and we took a hard route and hiked the mountain without a cable car or tram. Hope this vlog is helpful for those who want to hike the mountain and you guys like my vlog video.

Barcelona 2020 Day3

all in one

We woke up early and headed to Park Güell, which was a beautiful park designed by Antoni Gaudí. We then made our way to Sagrada Família, where we were able to go inside the church. After that, we went to see some Flamenco dancers perform. It was an amazing day and I can't wait to go back!

- Park Güell is a beautiful park designed by Antoni Gaudí that is definitely worth a visit.

- The Sagrada Família is an impressive church that you should definitely check out if you're in Barcelona.

- Flamenco dancing is a must-see if you're in Barcelona - the performers are so talented!

This day in Barcelona was my wife's birthday, so I planed for the big 3 things to do in Barcelona. We enjoyed Gaudi's Park Guell, Sagrada Familia in the day time, and a flamenco show at night.

Helsinki 2019

With so many things to do in Helsinki, it's easy to see why the Finish capital city is a popular European destination. Finland’s capital was founded in the 16th century but the city you see today took shape in the 1800s.

Well, I did nothing special as a tourist in Helsinki. lol. I spent two days on Biohacker Summit and went to Rautalampi for the offsite event, so my wife and I had the only chance to walk around in the city after the evening when no place for tourists was open.
