My Word for 2026

Kakizome 2026

my word for 2026 is 調 (Totonou).

Over the past months, I had a series of deep conversations and self-reflection sessions.
I wasn’t trying to “set bigger goals.”
I was trying to understand why I sometimes feel stuck even when I’m thinking all the time.

Lessons learned from the last year.
My mind stays busy because too many tasks stay “open” in the background.
Even on rest days, my brain does not register true rest.
That creates constant internal conflict, and it drains mental energy.
When energy stays low, even simple actions feel heavy.
The more I try to “think my way out,” the more I create noise.

Then one idea changed everything.

Life doesn’t move forward from endless thinking.
It moves forward from one clear step, taken after real recovery.

That led to a new standard for my life.

Not “work harder.”
Not “optimize more.”
But align.

So my word for 2026 is 調 (Totonou).

Theme of 2025 was Kokorozashi.
In the most literal sense, I used my life for it. I gave time, energy, sleep, and comfort to what I believed needed to be done.

The first half of the year took me to Texas and Tallinn.
Then in the fall, a five-year dream finally became real: the first Biohacking (Hololife) Summit in Japan. Seeing it come to life was one of the most meaningful moments of my journey so far.

I’m also deeply grateful to see our niche podcast continue to grow. Knowing that people choose to spend their time listening, learning, and thinking together means more than I can express.

Most of all, 2025 reminded me how fortunate I am.
I was supported by my family, my friends, and people who share the same Kokorozashi. Because of them, I can honestly say this was a year I felt truly alive—and truly grateful.

Thank you for walking this path with me.
Let’s keep moving forward, together.
