My Presentation: "Who is the Biggest Enemy?"

My presentation was titled "Who is the Biggest Enemy?" and revolved around the ego concept. I began by sharing my journey as an MMA fighter, traveling to different countries to train and fight, and how this experience influenced my understanding of the ego. I emphasized that biohacking technologies and methods can help reduce stress, increase happiness, and boost productivity. However, I posed a thought-provoking question: if we all know how to hack our ego, does that make us ultimate human beings, wise biohackers, or the happiest creatures?

I shared my self-analysis process, explaining how I deeply analyzed myself before coming to Amsterdam. I discussed my motivations for fighting, my self-expression, and my realization of being full of ego. I also shared my experiences in Thailand and Brazil, where I saw many fighters surviving day by day, fighting to feed their families. This contrasted with my own experience, as I was born in Tokyo, a safe city where learning martial arts was not the only option to protect oneself or make a living.

The presentation took an exciting turn when I discussed the concept of attention as a fundamental need. I shared a personal anecdote about my two-year-old daughter feeling jealous of my newborn baby because of the attention the baby was receiving. I then linked this to adults' desire for attention, highlighting a survey of young people in the UK that showed Instagram as the worst platform for mental health and wellbeing.

I also discussed the human tendency to compare ourselves with others, using my own experiences as a fighter and various studies as examples. I talked about the "Keeping Up with the Joneses" phenomenon, where people's satisfaction with their salaries is based not just on how much they earn but also on how much they earn compared to others.

The presentation concluded with me sharing two of my anecdotal experiences as a fighter. I talked about experiencing the "third eye" during a fight, where I see myself from a different angle and feel like I'm controlling myself like a video game character. I also discussed the state of extreme relaxation, such as in a sauna or cold plunge, where my ego doesn't show up.
