Ginger Cinnamon Pear & Chocolate covered Strawberry

It was my wife's birthday, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate the occasion. I decided to cook a delicious Italian feast for her, with some of her favorite dishes and a few new surprises thrown in for good measure. If you have been following Tatekitchen, you know that I cook Pescatore once a year for my wife’s birthday.

To start, I prepared a delicate and refreshing Yellow Tail Carpaccio. Thin slices of sushi grade raw yellowtail were topped with lemon, and olive oil creating a zesty and flavorful dish that was perfect for whetting our appetites.

For primo piatto, I made a classic seafood dish called Pescatore. This hearty dish was loaded with shrimp, scallops, clams, and calamari, and mussels, all cooked in a savory tomato-based sauce with garlic and white wine. As our new tradition since last year, I added raw sushi grade uni to cooked pasta right before mixing with sauce.

For secondo piatto, I decided to take a more adventurous approach and serve Braised Wild Boar. The meat was slow-cooked in a rich red wine sauce with root vegetables, creating a tender and flavorful dish that was both comforting and indulgent.

For dessert, I wanted to create something sweet and romantic. I prepared a light and refreshing Ginger Cinnamon Pear dish and Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Thin slices of fresh pear were marinated in a blend of ginger, cinnamon, honey, and lemon juice, creating a sweet and spicy combination that was both tasty and refreshing. Chocolate Covered Strawberries were a perfect combination of sweet, juicy fruit and rich, velvety chocolate.

Overall, the birthday dinner was a huge success. My wife loved and impressed with the delicious and varied courses. It was a night to remember, and I was thrilled to be able to create such a special meal for my wife on her special day.
