Time Out Market Boston

How I enjoyed my post-fight gourmet? My wife and I accidentally found out that Time Out market opened in Fenway recently. This is no ordinary mall food court. At Time Out Market Boston you’ll find restaurant stalls by well-known Boston restaurants. There are also two full-service bars, as well as a demonstration kitchen that will highlight a variety of local culinary stars.

In 2014, the company launched the first Time Out Market food hall in Lisbon, Portugal; an idea dreamed up by João Cepeda, then Portugal’s Time Out editorial director. The goal was to gather the best of that city’s local food and culture under one roof. Such a great idea! Time Out also opened in Miami and New York last month, and Chicago and Montreal will open later this year, followed by Dubai, London, and Prague further down the line.

I enjoyed the food there and watched Red Sox vs Yankees game on a big screen. Life is good!

This was worth checking out! I tried out Craigie Burger and Tasting Counter. The burger at Craigie on Main has long been recognized as one of the best burgers in the Boston area, as far as I heard a story from random people next to us. I just want a BURGER!! I popped Kion Lean and gluten enzyme, so was ready to dive into this bad boy!!! What I love this burger is the fact that they are collaborating on the bun with Cambridge-based Iggy’s Bread, and pickles are made at Maitland Mountain Farm in Salem, and cheddar used on the Craigie “OG,” from Adams Reserve in upstate New York; at Craigie on Main. All fighters are dreaming of post-fight meal, and I personally feel that whatever I put in my mouth tastes great, so to slow down myself and be more mindful, eat and appreciate local become more valuable to me.

Duck breast over fermented black bean and greens with yuzo kosho (couldn't taste the yuzu but there was a sauce that was sour) from Tasting Counter. I think it was okay and should be one of course meals dishes. My appetite was really high, so only about 4 Oz of food didn’t satisfy me enough.

However, this is a very different food court with communal-style seating. It helps encourage meeting/eating with new people. They even have an outdoor to chill out. YOU MUST visit if you are in Boston.

Time Out Market is a super high-end mall food court with options but without any individual tables to eat at. This place is gold for groups of people who all want to go out and none of you can agree on a place. There's vegan, chicken, Italian, Mediterranean, burgers, pizza, gelato, donuts, coffee, BARS, charcuterie, seafood, Jewish deli, juice/salads, Japanese tacos (To be honest with you, I won’t try…sorry), and more. I'm sure I'm missing more. You can all find each other and sit at massive long tables together.

The market is set up in a way that encourages sampling dishes and drinks from multiple vendors. You put your orders in, get buzzers from each spot that will alert you when you can return to the counters to pick up your orders, and stake a claim to a seat. There are communal tables throughout the space, as well as some counter seating and outdoor space.  It turned out to be our new favorite lunch spot in the whole city.  We love the choices, the quality of the food and the intriguing and stylishly appointed venue.  Although the hall is large and open it is not too noisy, and the seating is neat, clean and comfortable. Hopefully, you will make it here someday.
